Pioneering in Diverse Leadership

Welcome to the first in a series of online workshops on Pioneering in Diverse Leadership in Academia.

The workshops have been designed to showcase our leaders and highlight the successes of our graduates. It is an opportunity to celebrate and learn from engaging conversations. We hope to use the inherent diversity we have at Middlesex University to collaborate and innovate in exciting ventures.

Purpose & Intended Outcomes

To successfully implement an effective diversity and inclusivity strategy, it is important to collaborate with some key leads on diversity at Middlesex and other stakeholders to run a workshop to identify:

  • What is currently done well,

  • Key changes required.

This workshop is to showcase success:

  • Academics from diverse ethnic backgrounds

  • Graduates from minority ethnic backgrounds

To hear the voices of students on what success looks like to them and the way forward.

This event forms part of an equity/equality, diversity, and inclusion work, including a Black Chemist Initiative and the Race Equality Charter.

The event has been made possible by the internal collaborative efforts of our students, academic and professional staff, our funder: the Royal Society of Chemistry, and our external collaborative partner: the Learning Science company, McGraw Hill.

We are grateful to the speakers - academics, students, and graduates -  for committing to the event and sharing their knowledge and experience with us.
